Art of Nourishment is the conscious practice of following your natural appetite and innate intelligence in relationship to food. By selecting, preparing and eating foods that are in harmony with your constitution and the patterns of Nature, you are practicing the Art of Nourishment. This is quite different from a specific diet or food philosophy. These are often rigid and assume mind knows better than body how to derive sustenance.

There is no perfect diet or way of eating that suits everyone. When presented with absolute ideas of what you should or shouldn't eat, run the other way! Extreme diets almost always produce extreme imbalances. Any food can serve as medicine or poison at any given time. The key is knowing how to decipher which is which.

The most accurate source of information on diet and nutrition is always your own body and your own experience. Getting in touch with this inner knowing is the objective of all classes and teachings around the Art of Nourishment.

Using the time-tested principles of Ayurveda and Classical Chinese Medicine, we seek to re-awaken an inner connection to the natural environment and our own source of wisdom around food. We learn to observe our body and the cycles of nature with greater sensitivity, and make subtle adjustments on what foods we select and how we prepare them. In this way we take charge of our own well-being, and establish a wholesome relationship to food that ensures a lifetime of health and longevity.
